Ten Little Maidens In A Row

by Twisted Heart   Oct 21, 2007

Ten little maidens in a row
Their lips like cherry wine
Little Edgar ate one up
Now there are just nine

Nine little maidens in a row
One fell into the lake
Little Edgar watched her sink
That left only eight

Eight little maidens in a row
He shot one up to heaven
In a cannon from the war
Hence, now, there are but seven

Seven little maidens in a row
A brain he wished to pick
He opened one head with an awl
Now the numbers six

Six little maidens in a row
He buried one alive
Left her in the murky mud
And there are only five

Five little maidens in a row
One tried to reach the door
But she was caught, and left to rot
Now there are only four

Four little maidens in a row
He hung one from a tree
He poked her 'til she fell apart
Her death left only three

Three little maidens in a row
Now what is he to do
He poisoned one with arsenic
So that leaves only two

Two little maidens in a row
Little Edgar's having fun
He fed one to his boa constrictor
And that just leaves him one

One little maiden stands alone
She has nowhere to run
He takes a mallet to her head
Now Edgar's left with none
