Prove them wrong

by John Johanna   Oct 22, 2007

Rolling on a mountain
Rolling down to the hills
I've found nothing for me
I've now had my fill,
Of meaningless fortunes
And in meaningless strides
I disappoint my elders
A failure in his eyes.

Well I couldn't help it
Father I couldn't see,
When you said I've no direction
The joke was on me.
While I burn your advice
While I dance in the rain
I'll still grovel to fear
If it makes me more sane.

And in ten years time
You may find that I'm broke
But if I swallow my pride
I'm scared that I'll choke
On the dust of near silence
Until I meet death
Love me now
Or we'll forever hold our breath

    That was refreshing! Great style...
Well structured. Rhyme wasn't too forced.
