Falling Stones.

by MaeThomas   Oct 22, 2007

Letting out a distant sigh
Thy lover cast a fond goodbye,
Gazing forth to thine own breast
One foot slipping, snatch her, lest--
She fall.
Eyes closing as she called to thee,
Her last refrain, her melody:
"Thy heart so bitter, hard and cold,
Yet how I wish it mine to hold,
And now I leave this world alone;
Still craving love from loveless stone.."
