Angry Father

by Brittney Follett   Oct 23, 2007

Your screams and all those hateful words,
Echoing inside an already tormented brain.
She shudders at the hate inside your eyes
Delicate seams of her life, busting from strain.

Crude names that pour from your tainted mouth,
Leave marks upon her, How much can she maintain?
Your anger, all vented out on her, she's only four,
Father please, you're driving the poor girl insane.

Take a step back and look at all the damage.
The gashes upon her soul and her poor heart.
Look into her eyes, see all the pain you've caused.
Your anger is unbearable it's tearing her apart.

But an Angry Father, takes the next step of hate.
Both of her eyes are swollen, she cannot see.
A blow seems to suddenly come from no where,
As her world starts to fade, she whispers:
````````````"He Hates Me"````````````
    This is really good. It happens in the world everyday and a child ends up being driven to insanity by the thoughts that a parent or someone hates them. You did a very good concept on capturing the moment and putting it into words. It kept me reading from the beginning to end. I really enjoyed reading it.
    thanks
    Oh holy crap..I'm almost in tears.
    This was so heartbreaking to read, and yet so beautifully written at the same time.
    The imagery you portrayed in this is amazing, it creates such vivid pictures for the reader, while your flow is perfect throughout.
    Love the ending, so moving and intense.
    I really liked this poem. You described the madness of the father in a poetically and realistic kind of way. The choosing of words fitted this poem and the flow was great. 5/5
