California is Burning (Everying Lost in The Fire)

by Weeping Wolf   Oct 23, 2007

I watched the White Canyon turn Black.
A raging sea of flames
relentlessly whipped by the winds of God.
thousands of black horses galloped in the sky
in speeds unseen- there was no Light
An ominous Nothing stained the horizon Orange
And the higher you looked, the bloodier it became.

All became Dark.
Fear took over Hunger
And escape driven by Thirst
Everyone began running,
And everyone else was unaware
As they burned, burned, burned.

Looking behind, A mountain of smoke
Snared and consumed cherished lives
And we were in the eye of the Devil
Merciless heat spread from every side
And even in our race, the clouds took the lead
but we did not, we could not, stop running, running, running.

Fire.
Surrounded.
Tears.
If only our tears could extinguish the flames!
Flames leaping, reaching, blocking out the sun!
Waves were racing down the hills, becoming ash
Some stared in awe, some never looked back
Soldiers of flames marched onward, our lives under attack.

Reigning over us all, chaos and towering Despair
This is the not the smoke of my Imagination,
These are the flames of Reality.
