Beautiful Eyes

by abcede   Oct 23, 2007

He's fading, indifferent to everything real
desperately crying for less pain to feel.
Sometimes he's empty - no life in his eyes
blankfully staring, "My life is all lies!"
He's sucking down deeper into the black hole
that's seemingly endless and nobody knows...
knows of the agony, stress, and the pain
knows of his life - that's cruelly insane.
Self-destruction and alone feelings sear
while following those are hurt and raw fear,
but what is the truth that most people see?
What is the reality he cries us believe?

Those Beautiful Eyes that render a smile
that make us call, "Hey stay for a while!!"
He's gorgeous and real - this friend that I love
that I cry to and say, "Babe, YOU are enough!
You're precious, with purpose and so much to do.
God's given you reason, I'm telling the TRUTH!"

I'm casting my rope down over the side
I'm NOT going to lose you! I'm desperate inside!
"Come on, just CATCH IT! I WILL pull you through!"
In all desperation what else can i do?
I love you, my friend, so come up and rise
so once more I'll stare in those beautiful eyes.
