Lies

by The Pessimistic Peabody   Oct 23, 2007

The stars tell lies
Advertising a place of peace
When no such place exists in the entire universe

The sun tells lies
Warming your heart, body and soul
Only to leave you when the day is done

The moon tells lies
Giving light to guide your path
But with the simplest barrier it withdraws its help

The clouds tell lies
Raining down God's gift to the earth
While hiding the sun's warm rays

You hold truth
Giving me peace
Warming me in your arms
And guiding my path
But I fear to gaze into your eyes
I know not what you hide

I loved the way you used different examples of lies in this piece, the flow was perfect and the last stanza was the best. Great work indeed, Tim

I like this piece from the beginning to the end, it is greatly written with amazing and superb descriptions that created very vivid imagery. Every stanza is filled with greatly expressed emotions.
I like the ending very much, it's very effective.
Whole poem holds so much truth and sadness.
    Keep writing!
