Death gets lost on his way to meet a client

by John Long   Oct 23, 2007

Death stalked the streets,
Well maybe stalked is too strong,
But he seemed somewhat lost
As he bumbled along.

He didn't know these streets,
He was new to this town,
And he cursed and he grumbled,
That face wore a frown.

He had an appointment,
An important date,
With Dorothy Dobbs
Who was soon to be late.

So he stopped a policeman
To ask him the way
But he was quite rude
And just ran away.

The girl at the visitors' center
Wasn't much use,
As she fell to the floor,
Her face was quite puce.

"It's been a long day and
This is a mess,
I'll ask the Big guy
To give me GPS".

And so at last to the
Retirement home,
Where he found poor
Dorothy sadly alone.

"Don't be alarmed,
You've have a good life dearie".
But she wasn't ready to go
And got quite teary.

He felt a lump in his throat
As he sat on her bed,
And said "What the Hell,
Let's watch Oprah instead!"
