Between These Pages

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Oct 24, 2007

Her voice speaks of the pain she's suffered.
And thoughts race through my mind;
Ones I had thought behind me.

Here I am, arms wrapped around myself,
Reopening the book of a thousand words.
The book that allowed me to make peace with myself.
It was my voice.

This book, posted for all to see, gave me freedom.
My heart aches, my tears, my wounds,
My laughs, my happiness, my passion;
Has found its voice through my pen.
I've left my past between these pages.

Closing the book, I stare at the cover.
As a smile forms on my lips.
Placing the book aside, I walk out the room.
And face the present.

    Loved that stanza overall... It goes along well with my beliefs... to not live in the past... Keep up the great work, I love reading your poetry.
