Romanticide

by Bella   Oct 24, 2007

Romanticide is a word that can describe it all
it tells how all love can fall.
It explains the pain of loss,
the loss of love.
Now they could be watching from above.

Romanticide describes the human way,
repeating the same mistakes day after day,
forgetting some,
others we hold on to close,
making us never forget the ones who mean the most.

Romanticide tells others how we feel,
whether we are peaceful or as electric as an eel,
whether we forget to love,
or love to forget,
i do both, but neither yet.

Romanticide is the words unsaid,
hanging above our heads as we sleep in bed,
telling us whether we love loss,
or loss love,
as graceful and beautiful as a dove.

Romanticide is the greatest word of them all,
it helps us hold our head up when it needs to fall,
it reminds us of passionate love,
and the forever forgotten,
telling us whether or not to feel rotten,
making us think before we act,
even though brains do we lack,
standing next to us through think and thin,
no matter what,
romanticide is telling us when to open our mouth,
or keep it shut.
