Dad I Miss You...

by Chase Everman   Oct 24, 2007

This poem is about the death of my father (Douglas Wayne Everman)...he was killed in a motorcycle accident on his way to come get me from school when i was 10 years old...

Dad I miss you,
More than you will ever understand,
My memory will never fade,
When you use to hold my hand.

I was so young,
When you left me,
Now you will never get to see,
What your only son turns out to be.

I'll never forget that day,
When i asked you to come get me from school,
I was waiting anxiously,
And I thought everything was cool.

My mom came and got me,
And I knew something wasn't right,
When I looked into her eyes,
And saw a shocking sign of fright.

My mom took me to her office,
And told me the bad news,
I thought they were all lying,
And told myself it wasn't true.

Later on that day,
I heard my mom start to cry,
I tried to comfort her,
But broke down that night.

Dad I miss you a lot,
And wish you were here,
Every time I hear Douglas Wayne Everman,
I can't help but shed a tear.

This is soo good I cant believe no one commented on this one its really emotional writing because people look up to you and letting what you feel out in words are one step to move closer to getting passed the hard times
