I was once made mute
By the question:
Who are you?

My mind hummed in fear.

For I was nothing I knew.
And I knew I was nothing.

(Which lies behind all things.)

This poem is short but so much said!

As soon as I read it, I was reminded of the time I was asked the same question and had no idea how to reply

For I was nothing I knew.
And I knew I was nothing.

    I loved these words!!!

It made me think how well do we really know ourselves or each other. Sometimes we can think we're someone and then completely change - we can surprise ourselves!

    Well written
