He Takes the Best

I miss you so much,
I miss you laugh, you kiss, but mostly your touch.
You told me you would never turn your back and leave it all,
I wish I could have made one last call.
It would be to you,
To hope to see you again soon and say I love you, too.
The day I found out I just stood still,
The whole in my heart you can only fill.
Every day keeps filling me with sorrow,
Day after day I wish there was no tomorrow.
The day we had to lay you to rest,
Proves He only takes the best.
No matter how much I want you to be with me,
God has now set you free.

--This poem was written for my Uncle Dean, who got into a motorcycle accident. It's been some odd years but it still hurts knowning I won't see him anymore. I wrote this poem right after it sank in I would never see him again.--
