Was it really over?

"What's wrong?" you ask.
I reply, "Nothing."
You give me your 'I don't believe you look'
and raise your eyebrows.
"I know you better than anyone, now what is it?"

How can you ask me that?
You sit here with your arm around me
and you can not figure that out?

"If I tell you I'll start crying," I finally choke.
My eyes burn with red hot tears.
Not nearly as hot as my poor heart.

Your arm tightens around me
and you pull me closer into a half hug.
"Don't cry"

How can you try and comfort me?
Your the reason for my tears.

"I can't help it," I manage while pulling away,
"I think about you everyday."

"You never got over me did you?" he asked.
I never saw his face because I was looking ahead.
"No," I said while spilling more tears.

"Neither did I"
I looked over but he wasn't looking at me.

"I still care about you a lot," he admits to me.
My stomach twists and my heart is pierced.
How can this be?
He was the one who broke up with me two months ago.

"When I told you I loved you," I began,
"I meant it,
and i still do"

I am shaking all over.
This is more than I can handle.
You rub my leg to make it stop shaking.
I'm pushing your hand away
and shaking my head.

"What do you want with us?" I ask.
"I don't know..."
