Say it saves me, call it love

by Torrence   Oct 25, 2007

The bottom's falling out
while the world's caving in
and all around the blood spills
and cities fall and burn to nothing
yet I can't take my eyes off the sky
and the beauty of death
in the changing, falling leaves

Ride the carousel up and down
spin around and round
and you're back where you began
just a different angle
and so it isn't the same
simple deja vu
that threatens to drive me insane
if not for the music
flowing from the river
running red yet lovely all the same

No windows or doors
as the room shrinks
threatening to imprison in here
alone for eternity
just us and our disease
hope tried to drown us
sorrow promises to float
never seems right
when did we get turned upside down
and now there is no way to know
which way the hallway will go
which path to follow
since the reds and blues and green
have given way to black and white
and yet everything's gray
and left is down and right is wrong
while somewhere to the third dimension
a cat keeps grinning
rain rises from the ground
trees fall from the sky
the dead are dancing while the lovers rot
and the clocks tick on all the same

It's a funny thing, to watch the world die
while all the while you're fine
nothing is the same
nothing has changed

Say it saves me
Call it love
That's the only sure thing
The only thing I know
Anymore

I love this. Seriously amazing, really! I like the way you picture the world crashing apart, I really liked the part with the walls closing in on you, that was so great.. Keep it up, 5/5!
