2 years 1 day

its been two years where nothing could go wrong
the greatest two years of life
two years that was all but perfection
then one day came on a windy October afternoon
one day where the world changed
one day where perfection was swept away
the sky no longer blue but a deep gray
the grayer the sky got as the day past
and soon the rains came
the rain was a pour no light shined through
there was no rainbows, no sun, no flowers
this was no ordinary rain
it did not help the ground but burned it
the flowers died instead of grew
there was nothing one could do
except sit and watch as the day went by,
without him
as it began to thunder & lightning
he stood outside
the lightning struck not him
but something he had given away
it was within his sight
all he did was watch it burn away
not even the rains could put it out
it changed everything the gift was then shattered
as he walked to it his body ached
his soul raced uncontrollably
he thought this would never happen
but deep down he knew he gave all he had
looking at that shattered gift only meant one thing
the one rainy day would turn into 2
then 3, 4, 5, 6.. It would continue
until that day
the day that maybe
someone will give him a gift in return
