Where My Love Lives [A Poet's Remembrance]

by Twisted Heart   Oct 26, 2007

In Spring mist morn My Love does roam
Upon the fields of daffodils
Among the blossoms of her home
She walks along the trail at will
With tender arms she does embrace
The warmth of love bestowed this day
Upon her hand a ring is placed
A crown of roses on her head lay

Sweet dawn of light that bid her well
With kisses from the morning breeze
That makes her heart and soul to swell
Then blankets her mind with ease
Up on the hill I see her there
Enchanted by the woodland elves
The fantasy of life to share
In spite of what they hold themselves

Her eye has caught the sight of me
Dipped sparkles catch the rays of sun
Across the meadow to me she flees
Pure beauty of her leaves me stunned
Spun gold of hair cascades her face
Beneath the brow her eyes do shine
Her lips the pout of woman's grace
With ease she does my heart entwine

Where now she folds into my arms
Her warmth so tender and so fair
Her love has placed on me a charm
Has caught my heart quite unaware
Where came my heart a broken pain
She caught it fast and held it true
And placed upon my soul a claim
Each second now to be renewed

Where comes My Love, that holds my heart
Within her soul with care it treads
Up to the moon lust, among the stars
That dance so freely in my head
Now coats the pain of solace days
Within the mist of dew that shifts
Sweet Meadow Maiden, with you I'll stay
Forever for you... my true love lives.

Truly a beautiful piece! It has a fairytale feel to it, almost like Thumbelina or something. The rhyme and flow of this piece is by far one of your best and I have no suggestions for it. It creates a peaceful environment in my mind that I would love to revisit so often. Great job!
