Goodnight Prayer

Good night Lord,
The stars are in the sky,
And my today is over,
As the moon glows in the sky.

As I drift off to sleep,
Lord, I give my soul to You,
I pray that You will keep it safe,
Until this night is through.

If tomorrow does not come for me,
I hope I have served You well,
And that You will guide my spirit,
Into life after to dwell.

I pray that You will reunite me,
With the ones I love so dear,
If my life is really over,
And death is drawing near.

But should I live to see the dawn,
And tomorrow starting anew,
I will make the most of all thrown at me,
Before that day ends too.
