Who Cares About Expectations

by Raychil   Oct 28, 2007

It's like you're just expected
To be the perfect child
To have the grades, to have the looks
To have that winning smile

But what happens when you fail?
When you let them down,
When that perfect person
Is never to be found?

Some people just stop eating
Some people go get high
Some people let it drop
Some people will still try

The one's who don't eat
Will suffer
The one's who get high
Will fall
Those who ignore it
Won't bother
Those who still try
Beat all

So what if we're not perfect?
It's not like they are
At least you can be honest
And just be who you are

Maybe you won't be famous
But would you rather die?
Maybe you'll end up failing
But isn't it worth a try?

We stare into our mirrors
To see what we lack
But it's time to turn away from them
And never ever look back.
