Fear is only in our minds

Phantom fingers of the twilight's breath,
caressing the bane of my paranoia.
Worried of what might happen in death,
I'm trammeled in theatrical hysteria.

Eager ghouls tapped softly on my windows,
anxious to taint the sanity of my dreams.
Upon advent of illusive shadows,
I shut my sleepy eyes to drown in my screams.

Facade footsteps in the silent air,
trailing whispers of abundant voices.
I understand there is nothing there,
but my hectic dementia seem endless.

The nature of my mental misfit,
begins in ethereal absence of the sun.
With soothing lullaby I repeat,
I need no place to hide and nowhere to run.

Ignoring my silent delusion,
my conscious grasp on a truth that rhymes.
Escaping the void of deception,
I realize fear is only in our minds.

    Powerful, powerful, powerful... It seem that you mastered dark poetry lol.... no, seriously, this is absolutely amazing and endlessly effective, with captivating, dark imagery and atmosphere.
    My favorite stanza is:

    -Facade footsteps in the silent air,
    trailing whispers of abundant voices.
    I understand there is nothing there,
    but my hectic dementia seem endless.-

    I love the wording in this piece, absolutely brilliant!

    Wow, this piece is deep. You put your self in to it and wrote it excellently. I enjoyed in beauty of your words, very emotional and sad poem. You described your feelings amazingly and painted very vivid and impressing picture with them. This piece has very unique and complex tone, atmosphere that you created is very captivating.
