Turn Off The Light

by Lilly Tagloff   Oct 28, 2007

It seems that nothing can go right.
It seems that all has failed.
Everywhere you go is dark.
Every option has gone stale

It is way too loud for you to think.
It is way too loud to know.
All around you has gone crazy.
All around you is cold as snow.

Then suddenly there is someone there.
And you have someone, you know is true.
And all they want to do is talk.
All they want is to help you.

It does not take much for them to say.
It does not take much to do.
The second they start talking
Is the second you feel refreshed and new.

The world was off, but now it is back on.
You just had to turn on the light.
They finally said goodbye.
But you know that everything will be alright.

I liked this poem, I felt I could identify with it. The person in the poem who is there for you, could be many people, God, a religious leader, a family member or a trusted friend. I think a lot of people could identify with it. Well written. 5/5
