Finally Frayed

by Lilly Tagloff   Oct 28, 2007

Tears roll off her cheeks
As raindrops trail down her window
Her room is where she hides now
Where she prays she was not so weak

Too many times she has been this way
Shattered, cold, and alone
His harsh words still echo cold
Memories of when he walked away

She is broken now and giving up
Never finding what she seeks
She only knows one way to end the pain
To prove she has had enough

Warm blood is such a contrast
To her cold and pale skin
Her wounds drip blood...and memories
Of star-crossed love that could not last

As she feels her sorrows start to drain
Her memories start to fade
And wash away
Like tears in an ocean

By the time her family comes to her aid
There is nothing they could do
Could not save her from herself
Besides, who would want to save an emo girl
Her sanity was frayed.

A very well written, emotive piece of work. I felt the pain and could really identify with it. I look forward to reading more of your work.
