Heavy Eyes

by Richard S   Oct 28, 2007

Heavy eyes afraid to close,
For fear the cinema of the mind will reveal the truth.
Dreams lead to unedited emotions.
Dreams lead to unabridged thoughts.

Its not the same as in my youth.
No pythons pursuing donuts.
Id and Ego are shooting craps,
And Eros does needlepoint.

The Pursuit of the Marvelous isn't so much anymore.
Chance meeting of objects used to be different.
The Washington Monument used to talk to the Holland Tunnel.
Now talking crows send me down rabbit holes.

Heavy eye succumb,
And the cinema begins.
Four, three, two..... There is never one.
And the movie is in black and white.
