The Cold Breeze

by Joshua Grider   Oct 29, 2007

It's silent around me.
I hear nothing but the faint chirping of crickets and the crackling of fire.
my nose is cold as are my rosie cheeks.
my hand is the only consistent warm thing on my body,
because of the warm coco in my mug.
I take a sip and concentrate on the warm liquid sliding down the back of my throat.
how calming it is being in the forest by myself.
wishing badly for there to be someone sitting on the hard and bumpy log beside me side.
It would be nice to be able to stare into the sky and look at the thousands of stars while in someone's arms.
but those days are over for now, as I have taken a rest from a relationship filled with love.
But there was sumthing missing I guess.
