Handsome Star

by longings   Oct 29, 2007

I stand here with my feet planted firmly on the ground.
I look toward the night sky.
I wish I could fly.

Soar onward and upward to touch a star.
But I am here.
I am not where you are.
You are my handsome star.

Twinkle, twinkle handsome star.
I want to be where you are.
Touch your points of light.
Go onward and upward in flight.

Through the night,
into the sky.
Travel on your light.

But, here I stand.
My feet planted firmly on the ground.
Twinkle, twinkle handsome star.
Take me to where you are.
