The Locket

by Jenna Rose Kat   Oct 29, 2007

Why do you try and open me up?
Can't you see that I'm a locket?
I open up only to people who are close to me,
Those people can open the locket with gentle hands,
They know what's really inside,
Sometimes things of
Happy thoughts and emotions,
Sometimes things of sadness and anger,
So do you want to see the locket's core?
Do you want to see what's really inside?
You may be cursed,
You may be blessed,
Are you ready to face the locket?

I actually felt like the last line was a little weak, maybe somewhat chiche, and sometimes that works for poems. For this one....not so much. There was a confusion of the emotions through it. The main statement was good, creative, but I would work on making the expression known drastically.
