Fright Night Delight (Collab) With Ben Thompson

by Cindy   Oct 30, 2007

Seekers of treats crunch through the dark
Ghoulish jack-o-lanterns cast a scary glow
End of mischievous adventures
Harvests end brings cold and snow

Childhood innocence never lasts long
One of their wonders of the world
Fills young minds with magical memories
Long before adult wisdom unfurls

Dark of night moonlight haze
Friends gathering in small groups
Wispy cold howling winds
Don't faze these little troops

For they are bound for treasures
Wrapped in blues, reds and gold
Sugar sweet happiness
Before their spirits grow old

Small ones excited by the hunt
Parents to lend courage by their sides
Ghosts, witches and goblins
Among their company I reside

As hours tick to nights end
Tired little monsters ready to feed
Scurry home hurrying like Autumn winds
Gobbling goodies with ghoulish greed

Home at last by the crackling fire
With mounds of candy they received
Masks and make-up cast aside
Goodnight little tricksters on this All Hallows Eve

I've never been "Trick or Treating", but the way you described it here is exactly as I imagine it would be, wonderful imagery used here to bring to life the darkness and wonder of halloween.

A good collaboration is one in which you can't really tell where one author stop and the othjer takes over. This is written so beautifully written that your styles merge into one.

    Very nice work.
