Blood and Gold

by The Queen of Spades   Oct 30, 2007

Riches dripped in scarlet
Consume the bitter mind
Greed that once was cast out
Has now redeemed Its time

Land stretches for miles
Filled with glittering lust
But the high cost of attainment
Is more than doubt can trust

Sweet wealth is what is treasured
Yet with it comes the price
Of salty wounds and fury
More than what is enticed

Insanity pleas a bargain
A soul exchanged for coins of old
'Tis a world of dark disorder
In a land of blood and gold

    Hey,
normally I'm not so fond of poems about life, but yours is actually good. the flow is again perfect. you have a nice way with words. my favorite lines are:

    Insanity pleas a bargain
A soul exchanged for coins of old
'Tis a world of dark disorder
In a land of blood and gold
