Naked [Trijan Refrain]

A pedestal, etched with my name:
Sits, drowned in all my flaws,
Spitefully, I play his game,
As he turns to pause,
"This might take time," He turns and sighs,
As tears fall down from my tired eyes;
...........................This might take time,
...........................This might take time,
So sick of falling for his lies.

A pedestal, etched with my name:
Stands under a spotlight,
With tears, I douse out the last flame,
During the dead of night.
Naked I stand, fearing the end --
Trying my hardest to make amends;
...........................Naked I stand,
...........................Naked I stand,
Ripping at a spine that won`t bend.

A pedestal, etched with my name:
Stripped of all dignity,
A model for misconstrued blame,
That he aims toward me.
Naked I fall, away from pain,
Breaking his onyx heart in vain;

...........................Naked I fall,
Stumbling free of this rusty chain.

The Trijan Refrain, created by Jan Turner, consists of three 9-line stanzas, for a total of 27 lines. Line 1 is the same in all three stanzas. The first four syllables of line 5 in each stanza are repeated as the double-refrain for lines 7 and 8. The Trijan Refrain is a rhyming poem with a set meter and rhyme scheme as follows:
Rhyme scheme: a/b/a/b/c/c/d,d refrain of first 4 words of line five /c
Meter: 8/6/8/6/8/8/4,4 refrain/8

If it`s confusing, it`s about a break-up where the girls flaws are always brought up and he won`t bend for any change she suggests for him. In the end, she gets out of the relationship.
