Them

by Jenna Rose Kat   Oct 31, 2007

Hush child,
They are coming while you sleep,
Don't close your eyes because you're blind,
Don't let them take your soul to keep,
They need to find their own mind.

Be quiet,
Don't you understand they want your blood?
They don't care if your young,
They don't ever want to feel loved,
Death's bell had rung.

Shush!
They will hear you,
Do you want to die?
The ones they want are so few,
Do you know they also lie?

Shut up,
Child, don't you understand?
Be quiet or you will be no more,
They will take you like loose sand,
I remember when they did this before.

I confess,
I have watched you over the years,
I gave you your sparkling gem,
Came in and swept away your fears,
I am one of them.

Hi thnx for the comment, yhis is a very interesting piece. the a,b,a,b rhyming structure worked very well for the poem. The words used are very powerful in its description

only one thing i noticed that "there coming for you" should be they're but thats just me being picky a guess.

    other than that well done.
