Wicked Harvest

Wicked Harvest

Light haze covers an earthen crop
Beneath the stones where corpses rot
Hellish hounds howl in near distance
Souls lie in limbo where purgatory exists

Lives defined by whether good or evil
Demons lurk in search of their equal
Decades of formaldehyde soaked flesh
Leathery marinade for the famished

All Hallows Eve, when the feast begins
Relentless beasts are there when it ends
Walk with the living with scent of death
Waiting, anticipating for your final breath

Damn... What a write. Eerie and dark, a perfect write for halloween!! I particularly enjoyed the comfortable rhyming, intricately done. Well done :)

What a wonderful dark poem just in time for halloween. The imagery paints a very scary vision for the minds eye. Made me get chills up my spine.
    Excellent job!
