Looking in your eyes, I wonder
Whats running through your mind,
As my thoughts are flying free like fireflies through the night.
Your arm wraps around me pulling me in,
Never letting our eyes part.
As you pull me in,
I place my head on your chest,
And find myself studying your every breath and heartbeat,
Each working in a world of its own,
Slowly making mine a part of both.
Your warmth embraces me on this
Cold October day, keeping me
Safe from the outside world and
Its surroundings beside us.
These moments are the few perfect ones
That no one can ever take away.
I get that feeling with you,
Like when youre standing on the edge of
A cliff, looking over into the unknown,
Still feeling those fireflies deep within you,
But not knowing what theyre for.
And youre never once doubting or
Fearing the future from that second on.
As I get lost in my mind, I realize
What Ive found here.
I dont want to move a muscle,
Because I dont want you to let go of me.
I wont let you let go.
As I open my eyes, I find you
Lost In thought just as much.
A lean back and watch your every move,
Still counting every breath.
What more would I need?
I found love, truth, hope, faith,
And the unknown.
I found my everything.
I found my Fireflies.
