Ode to all those pretenders

by MorbidCupcake   Oct 31, 2007

Theyre all pretenders
Theyve never felt enough
Enough pain
Enough tears
Enough hurtful words
They dont know what its like

They wake up and put on their dark clothes
Outline their eyes in black
Tie their converse
But they dont know what its really like

She was never a pretender
But now she does what they do
Waking up in a good mood
And then once she steps foot outside the door, she knows its gonna be a bad day

She never knows when the anger rises
She tries to be wary
But she cant take heed
Theres no escape
Except to bleed
She comes home again
Praying to god, help me please
And she feels pain
Deep inside her chest
She feels tears
Falling down her face
She hears hurtful names and words
Saying she'll never amount to anything

This girl isnt a pretender
Shes a fighter
