Gloom Marigold

by QuietDreamer   Nov 1, 2007

The gloom marigold sits in the soil
Watching the ruby red roses,
The gems drinking up the spoil
Of the lime green garden hoses

The gloom marigold rested all alone
As the orchids sprung up with May
When the sun shone
And casted down its ray

The gloom marigold watches
Daisies dancing to the hum
Of the buzzing bee's matches
To the victor a taste of sweet nectar rum

The gloom marigold cries
As winter tumbles in
And the marigold's soul dies
Along with its kin

Alone is the marigold once again
But now more than ever
Nothing has the marigold to win
The marigold's heart shatters into petals forever
