Smoking

by The Herald   Nov 2, 2007

I sit at my computer,
staring at the screen
all the things that you just said,
they make you seem so mean

i know you didnt mean them
they were just a joke
how can i believe that,
when you told me that you smoke?

you tell me that its just a game,
that you can quit any time,
but the truth i fear is,
you're like smeagal screaming "MINE!"

i tell you that they're bad for you,
that they will give you cancer
you just ignore me and quietly,
log off without an answer.

I disagree with the comment above.

I thought there was plenty of emotion in this, and it was heart breaking. As a smoker myself, I know how others sometimes react to the news that a loved one is smoking, so I can understand, if not feel, the pain that you are talking about in this piece.

I thought it was both original and unique in concept, and I loved the ending, it left me wanting more.

That poem lacks emotion. it didnt seem sad to me, more comical. and im fairly sure that wasnt your intention. their is some talent in their you might need to keep practising tho.
