Backstage Poetry

by DeeEmm   Nov 2, 2007

All these thoughts I put to paper,
Stream from my heart to my hand,
They never take me too long,
And they never cater to what others demand.

I just write as my heart says it,
I try not to involve my brain,
I write purely on instinct,
And the feelings runnin' through my veins.

There are times, I must admit,
Certain rhymes, they just don't fit,
And I word certain poems well,
But there's nothing that they tell.

So all-in-all that's it,
There's nothing left to be said,
I could've written about my life,
But I chose to write this instead.

*A lot of you reading this probably would've thought this was irrelevant and written without a reason. But, in my defense, I feel it was well-written and when you think about it, it explains how I write, what I want from my poems and it could do justice to other poems, as well as itself.

The third paragraph (I'm not exactly sure what they're called in poetry), the rhymes may not have seemed to fit, they may've seemed irrelevant, ill-worded (for lack of another term) and forced, but if you think about what the paragraph is about, perhaps it'll make sense.

I felt I needed to explain before you judged it.

Thanks.*

This was amazing, I find that it was well written and well thought out. It flowed nicely and was very descriptive. Keep up the good work. *5/5*
