The Road of Memories

by Viola   Nov 4, 2007

There are all these memories stapled to the floor
And the rest, they line up against my wall
One after the other--like a row of pearls
Like the wooden boards of the track
I'm the broken train that steps on them all
Trying to erase each moment
But you keep laying new ones down

This road never seems to end
The leaves are turning red again
The water in the stream is trickling down
Another memory found

As the morning sun gleams in my room
Casting that perfectly soft yellow light
On everything that lies still, a beautiful scene
The world begins to breathe
I'm awakened with you on my mind
Once again, and forever more
These memories won't come up off the floor

I like this poem. Its very sweet and shows great emotion. Although for me, the meaning was kind of misunderstood it was still a great write and your words painted a picture in my mind. Great job!
