Strength

by Juliet   Nov 4, 2007

This could be
The last time
We see each other
Let's make it last
No moments wasted
Or forgotten

Can you hold me tight?
I want to feel your arms around me
And feel the strength
That you've had to go on

I'll recite the lessons learned
All of them
Were taught to me
By a man
So close to me in my heart

That man stays close to me
This very day
But I'm scared he's going to go away
Unless I do something

I wished on a shooting star
And hoped it went far
I prayed up to God
And hoped he listened good
I watched as the clouds
Split apart
And let the sun shine down on us
I knew it was your time

So as we sit here together
In the sunlight of heaven
I wish I could hold on to you
Have the strength that you could
But I can't find myself
Able too

Weeping with tears
Not only to be loosing you
At a time like this
But to see you so beautiful
And to imagine your face gone
It takes all the strength you gave me
To keep going on
