Sweet November

by Libby M   Nov 4, 2007

On November 10th my mom will complete two years.

Here is a poem-

Sweet November

November came and went, and the hearts
Of those who love you shattered into million pieces,
Nothing is the same, we have not let go of your sweet
November Memory.

The nights became unbearable,
The hours came quickly,
The minutes rushed,
The seconds were all that we had
The room was still, and so were you.

On November 2nd, your daughter stayed with you,
She had the chance to speak with you,
To share moments that she knew she will never
Have again, even though you thought you had all the years.
On November 3rd and the 4th, your son stayed with you,
He had the chance to watch you sleep, to speak with you,
To hand you the cup of water, to share few special thoughts, hopes
And dreams.

On November 5th I stayed with you, and for the very first time in a long time,
You finally went to sleep. You awoke, and I stood beside your bed, I held your hand,
You held mine, and you looked at me, and said, Tonight is the night, I love you
and you took my hand and kissed it, and that was the last time you ever spoke to me.
I did not know this was it, till the nurses came and said, this is serious, your mother is not breathing.
I held back the tears and tried to be strong, and when I made the phone call home, they all rushed to the hospital. The moment came after few days. November tenth, the day you said goodbye. The shouting, the screaming, the hospital was filled with cries. You have gone home to Jesus Christ.

Everything is yet still, though we know you would not return,
Our heart has not gone on and everyday we think of you,
Mom, November will never pass unnoticed,
It was the month you said good-bye to the children you raised,
To the husband you loved and gave your all.

You are now the Angel that you always wanted to be,
And we all know you are watching over us,
Our tears will never dry, and our hearts will never stop aching,
Nor will we be able to completely move on,
Because you loved us with everything you had,
Even when times became hard and unbearable to live on.
You still worried and still loved us till you breathed your last breath
On that cold November night.

November is a special month, it is when God called you home,
We no longer worry so much, we know that God takes care of His children,
And so we know that God is taking care of you.
We did all that was humanly possible, till we let you go in Jesus hands.
Even though it was painful, and Jesus knows how we feel when we lose a loved one,
He is taking care of you now, more than we ever could have.
I pray you are hearing me now, through these unspoken words,
Mom, We miss You everyday, We pray for you and We will always love You.
Rest in Peace Mom.
