No Day But Today

by the simple girl   Nov 5, 2007

Everything you're doing,
Every thought you're thinking,
Every plan for the future,
Every regret from the past,
Every single worry in your mind,
Every wish you ever made,
Forget it.
Forget it all.
Stop what you're doing,
And just live
For this one moment.

Look around
And see those little things,
See the things you can't see.
Hear the birds chirping,
Hear everything that you never thought to listen to.
Smell the things you've grown accustomed to,
Smell the air and the comfort it could bring.
Taste the soft kisses that nature gives you,
Taste the sweetness in what nature feeds you.
And mostly,
Feel that which surrounds you,
Feel it and take it in.
All that you have overlooked
All that you have taken for granted,
Take it now,
For what it was meant to be.
Realize what you have,
Before it's gone.
There is only now,
There is only here.
There is no day but today.
