Just like paper her heart set ablaze

by Byron   Nov 5, 2007

Wrapped in her blanket some reassurance
Her protection from this cold air
So steadily she awaits the truth in love
You can hear her whisper something to herself
"I am not to far from feeling so cold."
But her arms hold this lie far beyond ability to comprehend
If you watch her close she breaks
Slowly she will reassemble
With each careful piece she will place
"So cautious from the eyes of my lover." She'll repeat in desperate act to feel alive
Her hands are so cold
Or just feeling so alone
She shakes, demands some light to help her focus
"I’ve depended on myself far too many times. I've misplaced all my hope in another's lie. So depended on his arms I'm restricted to his grip, now it's slack and I'm loose and the plight from this world is tearing a hole through my chest."
She knows nothing will work, no pills or liquid to redeem for this pain
Talking broken lines through the phone
To the one person who would know how to fix this emotion
Struggling to talk any real sense, but the clouded words that form unfinished sentences
"Sensibility from him' or maybe my own problems, But I know now, No I never knew, but I would like to see, or maybe like to feel, just one happy memory, one long very very reasonable excuse to probability that this could really be me."
All this is visible and noticeable from her presence and eyes
How red they burn from her sorrow she cries
It touched my heart lifted my soul
To know that her worrying of living
Can make me feel like I can help when just doubting
That I know nothing of myself but this incomplete feeling
Of ever wanting to be held when holding is much more comfortable.
