Guppy The Goldfish

by Jenni Marie   Nov 5, 2007

One bright lazy summer's day
While crossing a river bed
Felt a little strange, turned around
Eyes nearly popped out my head

For there right in front of me
Surrounded by flowers pink and blue
Was a gigantic goldfish who asked
"Are you going this way too?"

All I could do was nod my head
In way to much shock to speak
The goldfish chuckled quietly
Lifted his fin and patted my cheek

Were my ears suddenly deceiving me?
No, I realized that I wasn't wrong
His mouth had started moving again
And he was now singing a song!

As I listened more closely to him
"Shake your booty," could be heard
My eyes widening in amazement
This was now becoming totally absurd

Staring at him in open mouthed wonder
He said, "Shake, sweet thang, I wont tell,"
Beginning to slowly sway to his music
I giggled, while thinking what the hell...

"Where you been?" Asked when I got home
Mother looking at me in the strangest way
No matter what I said, she just didn't believe
I'd shook my booty with Guppy Goldfish all day
