Heart In The Sand.

by babblingxbrooke   Nov 5, 2007

The waves crashing; sea gulls soaring; our hands intertwined,
just like a detailed painting; a picture, frozen in time.

our bare feet moving along the sand,
each heartbeat craving a loving demand.

the soft breeze; our hair softly blowing,
the neon orange sun, brightly glowing.

you picked up a shell & knelt down,
began carving our names into the grainy ground.

with my shell, around our names I drew a heart,
we stood back; gazing, we made no remarks.

in the middle of the heart we placed our shells,
& in the next moment, our future would tell.

a harsh wave came crashing without a sound,
where are names once were, no longer could they be found.

it's as though the wave knew, that for the shells we dearly cared,
for they were in the same spot, untouched, still lying there.
