Winter Love

by Bill Turner   Nov 5, 2007

Chill frost of fall upon the lawn
Breath dangling in the air like a participle
Snow beginning to cap the mountains
Yet no chill can touch my heart
I loved you from the start

Foliage turning color, blowing in the wind
Leaves dancing down the street
Chimneys blowing forth to the sky
Lay here next to me wrapped in the sheet
Bodies entwined in a love that cannot be beat

The cold of winter is held at bay
Not by siding, insulation, windows...our house
But by the love that makes it a home
My fire for you shall never flicker and fade
Giving my love to you is why I was made
