A Walk in my Shoes

by BeautifulGirl   Nov 6, 2007

Walking down the sidewalk
This speed is not enough
I break into a run
You're just trying to have some fun.

But you've hurt me just the same.
Behind, calling out my name.
Do you see no shame?
I was fine before you came.

What you did to me
Makes it hard for me to be
As sweet as a symphony
Why can't I make you see you see.

My heart is not a toy
To be broken by a boy.
You say you love me
But then you treat me like a flea.

You swat me away
You tell me what to say
So I don't embarrass you
But don't tell me what to do.

Now I'm running down the sidewalk
You try to get me to talk
You grab my arm and pull me back
I look at you then "SMACK"

I slap you across the face
I said I found a boy to take your place
One who treats me like he should
And loves me like you never would.

Now before you hurt another girl
And make her want to hurl
Take a walk in my shoes
To understand what not to do.
