Trapped and so alone,
Her mind begins to wander,
Off in the distance,
That voice calls to her.
She will remain in this place,
Unnoticed for eternity.
While they continue to inflict upon her,
She has created this world in her mind,
A safety net.
The images come, and these images remain.
So overwhelmed with these lies,
She begins to believe.
She once cried hope,
But only loneliness echoed.
Escape comes with a price,
That of substance, the bitter taste of blood, or silence.
Immortality cries to her,
It whispers in the darkness.
Her only statement in life,
“What a waste.”
