Winter Wolf

by Solus   Nov 7, 2007

Under the pale yellow moon, within the coldest nights.

A lone wolf wanders in a never ending winter.

Across the frozen landscape it catches glimpses of
others.

But scars and pain mark were its trust in them were punished.

Avoiding help in the dark, longing for the warmth and care of others.

Sick inside and cold without.

Mist and snow bade him slumber, trapped in a land with out sound.

Nothing more left for it but the cold and darkness.

Its singing howls, filled with sadness, are heard only by the ever dead trees.

Soon its ragged breath will end in whimpers, its grey form falling in the snow.

Exhaustion sets in, too far gone for pity to save.

Alone just as it's always been, the depressing winter closes at long last its icy fangs around its prey.

Wow... this is great, so original. I like the whole metaphor and the way you wrote this piece. Your descriptions are very vivid and this poem is touchingly deep.
    Keep up!

I don't know if I really agree with the above comments. I never like telling people to change anything about their poemStanzas because really, if they're so bad that I have to correct them, I'd rather just not comment so that they can just get defensive and ignore whatever I say~
Addition of stanzas would help, yes, but I also like the simplicity of this poem, and I think it works fine the way it is.
    Well done! And keep writing~

Wow this is really beautifully written.

I do agree about breaking it down into stanzas.

besides that, it's really really good:)

    Wow i loved this one
    it was almost mesmerising
although, spacing it and putting into stanzas could make it look abit more affective.
but it is truly my favourite work of yours.
    take care:)
