The Beating War Drum

by Rowena Linley   Nov 7, 2007

Boom, Boom, Boom
Listen to the beating war drum
Boom, Boom, Boom
As the brave men march
To the battle ground
Boom, Boom, Boom
Listen to their songs
Of honour, bravery and victory
Boom, Boom, Boom
As they march on
To the place
Where they meet their enemy
Boom, Boom, Boom
They march in time
To the beating war drum
Boom, Boom, Boom
With their armour strapped on
And their swords
In their fierce grips
Boom, Boom, Boom
Ready to meet their enemy
In that unkown
And distant place
Boom, Boom, Boom
Some to meet their maker
At the end of a enemys sword
Boom, Boom, Boom
Some to become heroes
At a battle won
Boom, Boom, Boom
On they march
In time to the beating war drum
Boom, Boom, Boom
All is silent
As the brave men
Come to a stop
They stare at the strangers
With Anger and Hatred
Within their eyes
All wondering
Who will see their families again
And who will not
Then slowly
The war drums starts up again
Boom, Boom, Boom
But this time
It has a different ring to it
A ring of fiercness
Boom, Boom, Boom
The brave men
Who travelled far and wide
Raise their swords
And charges with their battle cries
Boom, Boom, Boom
