Four in the Morning

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Nov 7, 2007

She slams another memory down,
Swallowing her pride with her tears,
Losing herself in a one-horse town,
She waves good-bye to thirty years.

A man she fell in love with, now gone,
Forever lost in her broken heart.
He said he`d be leaving, but not long,
Yet she sits, picking his lies apart.

Her Mama had always tried to tell her,
That her kind of men would leave,
But it`s another line that she slurs,
As her marriage begins to unweave.

She marches on, for those he hurt,
In the middle of this lonely night,
He tore her morale, made her dirt,
And against him, she does fight.

He left her with nothing at all,
But the children they had,
Walked away, as he let her fall,
Ruining the meaning of 'Dad'.

It`s four in the morning, I hear her cry,
Hoping to God someone hears,
She hides it, but look into her eyes,
And you`ll see it`s you she fears.
