Children Grow on Trees

by Allison   Nov 8, 2007

Leaves blowing in the wind
As they gently fall
Drifting to the freezing ground
Joining all the friends they lost

Reaching out the glide
Branches can not hold them back
They fight until the're free
Piling up alond the concrete ground

Like children they are battered
Scared by months of pain and hate
Crumbling under life's solid feet
Stomping their minds to mush

Broken apart, calling for help
No one hears the heartfilled cries
Left to survive and find their own path
Most are swept away

I like the imagery. It's an amazing simile/metaphor. You are very creative.
